Welcome to the Blog

Hello! My name is Haley Sweat and I am a twenty three year old, aspiring actor currently residing in Jacksonville, Florida. This upcoming year is a big one. I'll be twenty four, single, with no prospects. No, I don't mean to make this first paragraph sound like something straight out of a Jane Austen novel but in reality that is sort of how I feel about where my life is headed right now.

I graduated from college back in 2023 with a double major in Musical Theatre (BFA) and Clinical Psychology (BS). From there I began working at various regional theatres across the country including Theatre Aspen, The Florida Repertory Theatre, and The Alhambra Theatre & Dining. And while I absolutely love what I do, I feel as though I am stuck in a void without a compass.

Coincidentally, my mom is also going through a similar transitionary point in her life. Having set her retirement date for March 2025, she is soon about to have to take on a life chapter that doesn't involve all of her time being completely overpowered by work. She isn't sure about what she wants to do, where she wants to live, or how she wants to move forward. And so, what do we do?

We go.

That's what we do. We travel. We learn. We embrace, We celebrate life's fleeting moments with one last hurrah across the globe.

And that's where you come in. For the next year, 2025, I, Haley Olivia Sweat, will be traveling to 25 places before I turn 25. There are no set rules as to what qualifies as a "place". It could somewhere that I've been before, or someplace entirely new. It can remain in the United States or be somewhere across the globe. All that matters is that this place has to be significant in someway to me.
